“I crave stories that allow us to enter places we might otherwise turn away from—to sit inside contradiction, pain, humor, and darkness long enough to discover something human there. I created Ash House to develop work that doesn't shy away from the dark, but searches within it for light.”

Ashton Solecki

Founder. Producer. Storyteller.

Ash House is willing to stay with the darkness long enough to discover the absurdity, humanity, wisdom, connection, and light inside it… with a side of humor.

Ashton Solecki grew up in a tiny town in Montana, in a family full of love, dysfunction, darkness, and a very good sense of humor. It taught her something she would return to again and again: sometimes life becomes so dark, strange, or absurd that all you can do is laugh—and sometimes that laughter is the first crack where the light gets in.

Long before she entered the film industry, Ashton was interested in what makes people—and ideas—work. She earned a degree in neuroscience from Montana State University before building a career in innovation and product management, living and working around the world.

There, she discovered a particular instinct that would become a throughline in her career: recognizing potential early, and catalyzing success. Ashton became known for identifying overlooked opportunities, building a vision around them, securing investments, leading development, and launching products, transforming them into high-performing portfolios. She later brought that same instinct to the startup world, working with early-stage companies from idea through growth.

But The Dream had always been storytelling.

Eventually, Ashton hit the fuck-it button. Thank God.

She left the corporate world and moved to Los Angeles to become an actor, despite having no acting experience. She trained for two years at the Sanford Meisner Center in Burbank, and immediately after graduating booked the lead role in Roswell Delirium (AppleTV), earning multiple Best Actress awards for her performance. She went on to play a series-regular lead antagonist in the cable television series Elkhorn across two seasons.

Through acting, Ashton found herself increasingly drawn not only to inhabiting stories, but to shaping them. She found immediate success acting, but missed “the other half” of her brain. She realized the process of launching products and companies is a lot like asking why a story works (in theory and in market), poking holes in it, cutting through the BS to find what it is really trying to say, dare to name what hasn't yet been uncovered within it, and believe honestly, and strategically, in what it could become.

Ash House Media grew from the collision of those two lives.

The business mind that knows how to recognize possibility, build a vision, and catalyze momentum. The creative mind that is fascinated by human behavior, contradiction, emotional truth, and the strange places where darkness and humor meet.

Ashton founded Ash House to develop and produce stories willing to…go there. Yes, there.

Stories that don't sanitize the uncomfortable or exploit it. Stories willing to sit inside the holy shit, did that really just happen? moments of being human—the painful, absurd, hilarious, devastating ones—and look closely enough to find what else is there.

Not to dwell in darkness, but to transmute it.

Into perspective. Into connection. Into a little more understanding of one another. Into a belly laugh when you weren't expecting one, tears when you were, and—somewhere in the mess—a spark of light.
